Mumbai has pleasant weather between November and February. The humidity is bearable during these months and the temperatures waver between 17°C and 34°C. The city isn’t very comfortable in the months of March, April, and October for those not used to living in coastal areas. Traveling between May to August should be avoided as it can be terribly humid and the streets could be flooded due to torrential rains.

Mumbai has a dense transport network, but one has to choose the right option. BEST buses offer excellent connectivity within Mumbai. MSRTC buses connect the suburbs to main points in the city. NMMT buses operate in Navi Mumbai and Greater Mumbai. Mumbai metro connects the eastern and western extremes of the city on a 20 minute route. Mumbai Suburban Railway is the lifeline of the city, but it can be crowded during peak hours. Mumbai monorail offers cheap connectivity between Chembur in Eastern Mumbai and Jacob Circle in South Mumbai across the Eastern Suburbs of the city. Taxis are easily available across the city.
Mumbai is known both for its street-food and specialties. Bhel Puri on the beaches is a special experience. Akuri, the traditional Parsi dish at Jimmy Boy and Bheja Fry at Radio Restaurant is a delight. Batata Vada is available across every street but it’s special at Shrikrishna in Dadar. South Indian meals are delicious at Udupi in Matunga. Do not miss the Butter Garlic Crab at Trishna if you are a seafood aficionado. Badshah’s falooda is a relief to taste buds after a humid day. Traditional Konkani and Malvani fish curry at Sadichcha is great. Ayub’s Kababs are also lip-smacking.
